Curriculum Links - The Brace Map can be used in subjects to show the relationship between a whole object and the parts that make it.
Some examples are... Technology, Social Science & Science - As the purpose of this map is to see part-whole relationships it can be used to expand information on a selected object or topic. Art - Children could depict how they were able to make different colours from the primary colours. |
What is it?
It is known as a Brace Map What is its purpose? This map is designed to help break physical objects down into their functional components for a closer look. How is it used?
Why use it? It gives a clear understanding of parts to whole relationships. It is a great way to gain a deeper understanding of how things work. As with the other Thinking Maps, the versatility means that the contexts in which they can be used is limitless. Where there is creativity there is Thinking Maps. |
